Bala Town secured their third straight win in the Novira Cymru North with a 3-0 victory over Gresford Athletic at Maes Tegid on Friday evening. The result keeps Steve Fisher's side perfect after three matches, sitting top of the early standings.
The Lakesiders broke the deadlock right on the stroke of half-time. After a first half where they created several chances, Tom Kelly's corner was met by Craig Lindfield, who powered a header in at the near post. That goal gave Bala an important lead heading into the interval.
They doubled the advantage just seven minutes into the second half. Tom Kelly was again the provider, delivering a dangerous ball from the right which Charlie Fisher headed home. The third goal arrived on the hour mark, with Iwan Lewis finishing superbly. He struck a sweet half-volley that flew into the left-hand corner, leaving Gresford keeper Alexander Tyrrell with no chance.
Goalkeeper La'Trell Jones, making his debut after a recent signing, kept a clean sheet.
Fisher told reporters he was pleased with the points but saw room for improvement. "I said to the lads before the game it was all about getting points on the board and keeping the winning run going," he said. "I was pleased with the 3-0 win. It could have been more and probably should have been more. We did really well in spells."
He added that the performance in the first half was a little off, but the goal just before the break changed the game. Fisher believes there is more to come from his squad as they continue to gel.

Bala created several good opportunities in the first half. Tom Kelly forced a smart save from Tyrrell with a curling free-kick early on. Later, Kelly combined with Craig Lindfield but saw his effort drift just over the bar. Henry Evans also had a powerful strike blocked, and Charlie Fisher tested the Gresford keeper before the breakthrough finally arrived.
The squad, which includes several new faces, is showing visible improvement each week according to the manager. Bala Town's next match is away to Rhyl on Saturday, September 12th.
