Bala Town has been refused a FAW Tier 1 licence for the upcoming JD Cymru Premier season. The decision was made due to personnel and administration grounds.

What happened?

Bala Town and Colwyn Bay were the only two clubs to be refused licences out of the 12 that applied. The First Instance Body met to assess the applications and made the decision.

Why it matters for Bala Town

This refusal puts Bala Town's status in the JD Cymru Premier in jeopardy. The club is currently 11th in the table and battling to avoid relegation.

What comes next?

Bala Town has six days to appeal the decision with the Appeals Body meeting on 16 April 2026. The club will be hoping to resolve the issues and secure a licence for next season.
