Bala Town face a trip to Caersws this weekend needing to find consistency after a heavy home defeat. The Lakesiders were beaten 4-2 by Mold Alexandra at Maes Tegid last Saturday, a result that sums up their erratic recent form.
They sit fourth in the FAW Championship North with 18 points from nine games, but their pattern of results has been one of peaks and troughs. The last five matches show two wins and three losses, a sequence that reads LWLWL. Victories at Penrhyncoch and Porthmadog were followed by a 5-2 loss at Denbigh Town and the recent reverse against Mold.
Saturday's opponents, Caersws, are currently seventh in the standings. The match at the Recreation Ground kicks off at 13:30 UTC. Bala Town's attack has been potent at times, scoring 17 goals this season, but conceding 14 means defensive solidity will be a focus.
Manager Colin Caton will demand a response from his players after the Mold Alexandra game, where goals from D. Simmonds and C. Fisher were not enough. The team's full fixtures list shows a busy period ahead, and they remain six points behind league leaders Brickfield Rangers in the standings.
Bala Town's next assignment is the away fixture at Caersws on October 3.
