Bala Town's Will Evans is at the centre of transfer talks within English football. The 29-year-old from Llangedwyn has reportedly attracted a £400,000 fee agreed by Plymouth Argyle to sign him. Evans has been with Mansfield Town since 2024 and has scored 11 goals in 49 games for Nigel Clough's side in all competitions. Prior to that, he registered 29 goals in 107 appearances for Newport County in League Two and has also played for Cardiff Metropolitan University and Bala Town in the Cymru Premier. His experience and goal-scoring ability have prompted interest from Plymouth as they look to replace Lorent Tolaj, who scored 21 goals last season before departing for Bristol City. With Tolaj's departure and uncertainty surrounding other forwards, the Plymouth coaching staff are looking to add depth and competition up front. It is understood they are hoping to sign more than one striker during the current window. Evans has proven himself at third tier level now and would be a sensible addition for Cleverley's side. In this latest update regarding his situation in this transfer window, the Pilgrims have struck an agreement with his current club and he is now set for a switch to Home Park. He will have a medical with the Devon outfit imminently ahead of his proposed transfer. Next fixture: vs Newtown AFC (at home, 2026-08-31).
