Bala Town produced a resilient comeback to earn a dramatic 3-3 draw away to Caersws in the FAW Championship North on Saturday. The Lakesiders trailed 2-0 and then 3-2 deep into injury time before snatching a point with a late flurry of goals.

Caersws took the lead midway through the first half when Rhys Hesden converted a penalty in the 26th minute. Bala Town responded before the break, with Ollie Simmonds finding the net in the 39th minute to make it 1-1. The home side regained the advantage twenty minutes from time through a goal from Cai Francis-Jones.

Simmonds then scored his second of the afternoon eight minutes later to level the scores once more. Just when it seemed the points would be shared, Josh Owen put Bala Town ahead for the first time in the first minute of added time. The drama was not over, as Iwan Smout equalised for Caersws three minutes later to seal the six-goal thriller.

The point keeps Bala Town in fourth place in the FAW Championship, with 19 points from their opening ten matches. They remain six points behind leaders Brickfield Rangers but have shown the character to fight back in a difficult away fixture.

Colin Caton's side must now regroup for another important home game. They host Buckley Town, who are currently ninth, at Maes Tegid next Saturday. All the details for that fixture are on our fixtures list.
