Bala Town prepare for a Welsh Cup clash with Holyhead Hotspur this Saturday, aiming to find a spark after a difficult run of league results. The Round of 64 tie kicks off at 14:00 at Maes Tegid, offering a welcome distraction from the FAW Championship grind.
Recent league form
Their league form has been inconsistent. A 2-3 home defeat to Buckley Town last weekend was a particular blow, coming after a 3-3 draw away at Caersws. They have managed just one victory in their last five league outings, a 1-0 win at Penrhyncoch in mid-September.
Broader league context
That patchy run has left Bala Town fifth in the FAW Championship table with 19 points from 11 games. They are eight points adrift of leaders Brickfield Rangers, a gap they will be keen to stop widening. The team's goal difference stands at +2, having scored 22 and conceded 20 so far this season.
Saturday's cup match provides a fresh challenge against Holyhead Hotspur. The focus will then quickly return to the league, with a trip to face Llanuwchllyn scheduled for next weekend.
